Overview
Originally built in 1928, the Donald Ross-designed Sagamore Golf Course is a tree-lined layout with undulating greens. There are plenty of elevation changes, including at the downhill par-4 opener, which offers scenic vistas of nearby Lake George and the Adirondacks in the distance. A shuttle runs between the course and resort, about 10 minutes away.

Review
“Beautiful 1928 Donald Ross design set in rolling terrain overlooking Lake George. Hilly but walkable course. Natural routing using slopes and elevation changes to create strategic approaches to greens. A good variety of very long and short par 3s and par 4s. “Turtleback” greens are of medium size with subtle contours and slopes, many with wide “approach” aprons in the front. Missed greens create difficult chip shots. Bunkering is in good shape and is used strategically to create angles. Course was damaged by a tornado last year and the firm of Coore and Crenshaw is currently developing a restoration plan for the near future."
