“Beautiful setting in the Catskill Mountains. Subtle elevation changes and a back nine that sits on a valley floor with wetlands that add significantly to the beauty."

“A ruggedly beautiful course with abundant wildlife, all of which enhances the experience. Tees stretching from 5,000 to 7,000+ yards provide appropriate options for players of all levels. Staffing was exceptional, including a person stationed at the driving range to provide assistance. Pricey, but an overall experience that was exceptional."

“Formerly a Top 100 course in America, the Monster Golf Club closed about a decade ago but was resurrected in late 2023 by Rees Jones and Bryce Swanson. Jones created a new 18 from a combination of the former 36 and the course is affiliated with the Resorts World Casino down the street. The experience itself is very upscale, with state-of-the-art golf carts, a large grass range, and plenty of other amenities you don't typically find at a public course. The course plays over hilly, swampy land in the Catskills and is sadly no longer top 100 material. The four par threes and fives basically all the play the same distance, decreasing variety and the conditioning was subpar. The best stretch of holes on the course comes on the back nine, where rivers and ponds create some challenge and strategic interest on holes like the 12th and 13th. The closing hole is also a "Monster", running uphill and to the left at well over 450 yards. At over $200 a round, this course is very expensive and I'm curious who the course's target audience is."

“Reimagined 2023 Rees Jones resort design in the Catskill Mountains. Jones took what was left of property from two different courses and created an entirely new course. Some really nice holes that require accuracy off the tee. Greens were really good for such a new course. They were receptive and very smooth. Definitely worth a visit if in the area."
