Overview
Less than 45 minutes north of Albany, Saratoga National is a scenic yet challenging public layout. There are many forced carries over ponds, marshlands and creeks to reach fairways and greens, including at the par-3 15th, where the green is surrounded by water. Creeks run through many fairways, especially on the back nine, requiring sound strategy to either lay up short or knock it over.

Review
“Saratoga National is the type of golf course that is either your type or not. One of the more polarizing places I've played in the last few years. Built on relatively low lying land without a memorable degree of elevation the course hop scotches around fescue and swamp and puts a high premium on driving accuracy without many options other than target golf. The Courses is in great shape overall with very healthy greens which sadly for the price were very slow. Premium price greens fees in peak season should roll faster than a 9. Very Gawdy facility with stonework, waterfalls and amenities will peak the interest of many but does distract a bit from the course which could be intentional."

“A generous public course with wide fairways, receptive greens, and some water. Condition is needy."
