“Cold Spring CC is a private club with a great backstory, as this was originally a Seth Raynor design built as the private retreat of financier Otto Kahn, who lived at Oheka, the adjacent (massive) manor house and wedding venue. Long separated from the manor, the club has had its ups and downs, with a Nicklaus renovation in the later 20th century that added awkward mounding and affected many holes detrimentally. It seems that the club is slowly repairing these wrongs for the better, but there is a long way to go to beat the 80s/90s style back out of the place. The club is probably just a restoration project away from once again being a hidden gem, but that depends on the appetite of the membership for such a project."
