“Very good day in and out golf course. Not top 200"

“A course that feels repetitive, as the holes are similar yardages and lack significant character. Would benefit tremendously from a restoration/renovation. The bunkering lacks character, and there is a need for tree removal which can be replaced by native areas/bunkering. An example of this is the 18th. The bones of this hole are tremendous, a 600+ yard downhill par 5 that traverses back towards the club house. However, it lacks visual appeal due to the abundance of trees, plain bunkering and lack of different grasses. I think Canoe Brook is a solid course, that with a restoration in the hands of the right person, could be a great course. This is not the case from a conditioning standpoint, as the course was firm and fast and was one of the best conditioned courses I have played all year."

“A very private course but if you get a chance to play it, bring your big stick for it is a big course and once you reach the greens, the surfaces are quick. Only one forced carry, the par 3 5th over water to a shallow green."

“A private country club in North Jersey, Canoe Brook features 36 holes that were initially designed by Walter Travis but has undergone significant changes since. The course features a lovely clubhouse, a difficult test, and superb conditions but there's really not much of architectural merit compared to many nearby private clubs."

“Great layout. Very good conditions. Fancy clubhouse. Great guest rooms on the top of the clubhouse for visitors from out of town. Plays as a qualifier for The Open. The North course is the bigger more demanding course"
