“John Fought did a wonderful job on his renovation of an incredibly popular municipal golf course. At 60,000 rounds per year, plan early to get a tee time. The head pro, Dave Donovan explained that before the renovation, every green was kind of a "pancake" without a lot of character. Fought found the original Donald Ross designs for the green complexes which were never built. Instead sand greens were in play for many years after the course was built. Fought's renovation changed everything to the point where the greens and approach shots require skill and respect. This course is an affordable and enjoyable place to play."

The warm summer months are where it really shines, when the Bermuda is thriving and the greens are smooth and fast. “Very affordable Donald Ross municipal golf course designed in 1926. Played in the winter months and course played firm and fast. The greens complexes were the highlight of this well-designed course. They were quick and provided a true roll. This is an excellent low cost option in the Wilmington area."
