Overview
In the era of social media, it’s rare to find a true hidden gem these days. Sequoyah National might be the last of a dying breed. Located 45 minutes west from Asheville, this Robert Trent Jones II design is built on dramatic terrain with incredible, panoramic views of the Great Smoky Mountains. Though measuring at 6,600 yards, the elevation changes provide a strong ball-striking test. A recent bunker renovation and conversion to zoysia fairways has this 2009 design in as good of shape as ever. Just minutes away from the Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort, Sequoyah National is a great destination for a buddies escape.

“Fun is the best way to describe this course. It has severe elevation changes including your first tee shot of the day. #15 is a short downhill dogleg right hole with at least a 200-250 foot drop to the landing area. You can also give the green a go if you can hit a blind shot over part of the forest to a green that slopes off the back. #4 has a quirky 3-tiered green that requires a precise approach shot. If you’re above the hole on the top tier, your next putt may be uphill from the bottom tier. The course has a beautiful backdrop of The Great Smoky Mountain National Park with amazing views. One of the most enjoyable courses I’ve played."

“Extremely hilly terrain and many holes play over hazards so lots of carries. Kemper started managing in 4/2018 and condition was not good as area had lots of rain in summer 2018. Great views but not recommended for be beginners or people who can't carry the ball very far."
