Overview
Situated just south of Hendersonville and 45 minutes of Asheville, Tom Fazio devised an 18-hole routing that accentuates the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains and rolling terrain with as much as 350 feet of elevation change amid deep ravines, mountain streams and heavily forested hills. Each fairway is carved into natural valleys as Fazio's team worked to create playing corridors that allow members and their guests to navigate the hilly terrain. The course opened in 1991 on over 500 acres of land and has been ranked inside Golf Digest's Best in State ever since.

“An interesting Tom Fazio designed course in the hills of Western North Carolina south of Asheville. The views are spectacular and the terrain is hilly to say the least. It's an enjoyable place to play and if traveling through Western North Carolina would be a place I would want to visit."

“A unique Tom Fazio designed course in his former home town of Hendersonville, North Carolina. This course is built in and on the hills and that has a huge influence on the amazing views as well as the course layout. There are number of downhill drives with uphill shots to the greens. One part three in particular is at least a 40 yard difference because of the decline. Overall a fun place to play and if visiting western North Carolina would be a good place to stop and play."

“Champion Hills takes advantage of its hilly location, but gets repetitive after awhile due to many holes with downhill tee shots followed by uphill approaches. The course is beautiful but fairly penal as well. With that said, taken individually there are number of very good holes and the experience is very enjoyable."

“This is one hilly golf course. It is Fazio's home course so the conditioning is special. If you like hilly courses this one is for you."
