“solid, challenging course. May not be that much fun for average golfer with tons of sand, including lots of fairway bunkers. Greens in good condition."

“Shot options: Course doesn't have a lot of holes with strong Shot Options, but the ones that do are quite good (3/4/13/14). Most other holes require some good shots, such as the par 3's. Only a few holes are bland (1/2/11). Judged down a bit with the lack of Shot Options, but a good renovation could place this course much higher; Hole by Hole comments:Hole #1: I wouldn't make a nearly-drivable par 4 the opener, seems out of place. Could be a lot better on risk/reward and shot options with some easy changes. ; Hole #2: No reason why you wouldn't swing hard 2x to get there in 2. Challenge is approach shot to table top green; Hole #3: Good shot options off the tee - short tee shot with longer blind shot, or risk the longer drive for easier approach. ; Hole #4: good risk reward with a classic "bite off as much as you can chew" tee shot, although bunkers are not that much risk. Challenge is raised green that is somewhat shallow, needs a good shot; Hole #5: Long hole that requires 2 good shots, but not much in the way of options; Hole #6: not much options on the drive, just hit it hard, a little more thinking required on the approach, green well protected; Hole #7: false front provides a lot of stress, and good shot option of how much one would risk it; Hole #8: requires good drive, but don't see many options; Hole #9: bland hole, not any options; Hole #10: could be a much better hole with great options, but not provided in this version. Nice contours on green require a good shot. Played into a severe wind, and it was a hard hole, had to hit a perfect drive to get a shorter iron, which was no treat given contours on green. ; Hole #11: Wide fairway on short par 5 says swing hard 2x. Only stress is if hole is just to right of tier, then need to stay right; Hole #12: requires very good tee shot and long iron. Can play short and chip up for par. Modest options, but requires strong thinking and induces a lot of stress; Hole #13: excellent options, can layup wide or go for it. Green isn't easy, so have to hit it properly; Hole #14: Requires good long iron, but can bail out left. Pin on left side makes this a stress-inducing hole; Hole #15: requires good approach at right distance, but not overly stress inducing; Hole #16: Long par 3 requires solid shot in; Hole #17: not much on options, and difficult to reach in 2, so just need decent layup, not that strategic nor stress inducing; Hole #18: Not strategic hole, as right fairway bunker isn't of much consequence, so can just swing hard. Green is much better, with some great pins available in the back.; : Challenge: ; Layout variety: Excellent mix of length of holes, doglegs, hilly/flat, etc. ; Aesthetics: I enjoy the sandy nature of the course, but 2 others in my group said it has a stark look to it that isn't very pleasing. Plus the fairway bunkers (almost waste areas) aren't very good looking and have poor sand in them. ; Conditioning: Rained recently, so not as firm as I would have expected, but certainly could believe it could be fast. Greens rolled well. Only complaint was very poor sand quality, felt like I was playing out of my sandbox as a 4 year old. ; Character: Nothing overly remarkable, just a good solid suburban course. ; Fun: Fun for the better player, but the average player, like my wife, didn't enjoy it as much as others (like Legends Club), also in suburban Mpls."

“Possibly a tad too difficult for some, but a varied and well-conditioned design that provides plenty of challenge. Greens demand your attention. One of the best two or three public courses in the area."

“One of my favorite public courses in the Twin Cities. Very distinct holes that aren't repetitive. Typically firm conditions and green. I played this year and it was a touch soft...I know they have a new super so I hope this isn't a new path they will be taking."
