“Rouge Park is a great layout but as a caveat, will say conditioning often varies. I've played it while in very good shape for a city municipal course, and have seen it very rough as well. The 9s get swapped often. The 9 that starts by the clubhouse has a good balance of 3 par 3s, 4s and 5s. The 2nd hole of the 9 is a beast of a Par 4, with a long 2nd shot over water to a small green. The 2nd 9 (that starts in a valley away from the clubhouse) is a more traditional 2 par 3s and 5s. The first hole on that 9 is a unique double dog leg par 4 with both the tee shot and approach shot requiring carry over water. Very risk / reward hole as you can cut a lot off the approach by hugging the trees / water off the tee. The signature hole is the 7th hole on that side, a 100 yard par 3 that is straight up hill over a ravine to a blind green (can only see the flag). It's often voted by the Detroit Newspapers as being one of the best Par 3s in the state."
