Overview
Pilgrim’s Run blends playability with character, as the generally wide fairways and large greens are protected by ponds, forest and strategically placed bunkers. Many of our panelists note that though it’s just 30 minutes north of Grand Rapids, Pilgrim’s Run has a northern Michigan feel.

“The owner gave the designing challenge to 6 of his original employees, 2 of which were his sons in law. Each picked 3 numbered holes out of a hat and designed them. Remarkable how each flows together on the course. Great mix of doglegs and risk/reward holes. Beautiful tree lined, Michigan golf. Great condition and fun to play!"

“Pure golf through heavily wooded land where you don't see any other holes. Very good green complexes with playable greens. Condition was excellent although not firm and fast. Worth the effort to find it in remote area."

“Lots of architectural bang for your buck here, which seems to be a common theme with the Mike DeVries-designed courses I've played. Plenty of risk/reward options throughout the round and some interesting, thought provoking approaches and greensites. The course is laid on a big piece of property and I'm not entirely sure how walkable the routing is but the land is interesting and the golf is really quite good. Worth the drive if you are around Grand Rapids or even Arcadia."

“This is up north Michigan golf without having to go too far up north. Large greens and generous fairways make this very playable, but the green undulations make approach shots difficult. Reasonably price, and just 30 minutes North of Grand Rapids, definitely worth the trip."

“Fantastic public golf course with a variety of holes throughout with big undulations, twist and turns while 3 putts awaiting your arrival to the green. Completely secluded course with no houses on the property with phenomenal turf conditions similarly found at the highest end private golf courses. It’s a course that’s best served if you play two rounds in the same day or the following day to learn some of the nuances and how to best play each hole. Greens are heavily undulated with greens speeds in the double digits."
