Overview
Playing along 1,100 acres in northern Michigan’s Sturgeon River Valley, the Tribute is one of two 18-hole layouts at Otsego Resort. Nearly every tee is elevated, creating numerous scenic tee shots down to the fairway. Perhaps the best view on the course is at the par-4 third, where standing on the tee you can see out for over 30 miles.

“A good fun public course and the fun really starts on the 3rd tee."

“Very scenic course that weaves through, up and down a heavily wooded area just east of Gaylord. A fair amount of elevation change with a couple dramatic downhill holes and several mildly uphill ones. Long par 5's and 3 long par 3's. Just over 7,000 yards from the back tees and 5,000 from the forward of 4 sets to tee boxes. Only a couple of blind tee or 2nd shots. The course condition is really good and the greens are soft and receptive but run quick a true. Fairways and landing areas are fairly wide."

“The Tribute course is essentially a tour of the Sturgeon River Valley in Gaylord Michigan. The course itself features dramatic elevation changes off the tee and on approaches to green. There are only a handful of flat holes. Many of the tee shots feature vistas over the rolling hills. There is a premium on hitting fairways, as many of the fairways are smallish with trees or marsh on either side. However, with 6 sets of tees, if the golfer selects the appropriate tee, I still feel this is fair for the average golfer. Quite a few times though, a golfer may find it more appropriate to play less than driver off the tee to ensure their tee shot finds the fairway. The greens have a variety of slopes and contouring. Fairway aprons around many of the greens give the golfer a bevy of options on shots to play greenside. Each hole is quite distinctive and unique. The greens roll true and fairways are firm. From an aesthetics standpoint, this is a stunning golf course where the player feels alone in nature."
