Overview
Meadowbrook's first six holes were designed by Willie Park, Jr. in 1916. Harry Collis and Jack Daray expanded the course to 18 holes in the 1920s, and Donald Ross later remodeled it. In 2017, architect Andy Staples re-envisioned the holes as pure Willie Park expressions, using Park's Huntercomb Golf Club in the U.K. as inspiration. The result is a brash interpretation of early 19th century architecture with square greens, geometric green contour and steep-faced bunkers on a rolling meadow property spotted here and there with stands of trees.

“Wonderful golf course. The green complexes are what give it its bite. Miss a green here and you'll be taking your putter, wedges and a hybrid to decide what shot you want to play from the runoffs. The greens are no piece of cake either."

“Incredible set of green complexes that must be seen to be believed. The double tiered 3rd green is one of the more unique green complexes one will see anywhere. Several greens w/ squared edges. The biarritz green being on a par 5 was a rarity, the 17th hole. The lions mouth green on hole 14 was wild. On the 11th green, a roller coaster of slopes on the right side of the green provide great challenge to a long par 3 hole. Also, a very memorable punchbowl green on the 5th hole. Some very dramatic fairway contours rarely found anywhere else greet the player off the tee, in particular holes 5 and 14 stand out. Host of the 1955 PGA Championship."
