“Barton Hills Country Club is a timeless Donald Ross gem that continues to shine after its recent renovation. The updates honor Ross’s original vision while elevating the course to modern championship standards. The bunkering is bold yet elegant, demanding both precision and creativity. Conditioning is superb from tee to green, with firm fairways and lightning-fast, undulating greens that reward a touch and strategy. The course winds gracefully through rolling terrain framed by lush, mature foliage, creating a setting that feels both historic and alive. The stately clubhouse, rich with character, anchors the property and reflects the club’s deep golfing heritage. Barton Hills blends classic architecture, impeccable presentation, and a genuine sense of place—making it one of the Midwest’s truly memorable golf experiences."

“Surprising amount variety here where the land is rather flatish for the first 2/3rds of the routing. Could lose a few more trees and some of the greens have very interesting sections (Some skinny offshoot peninsulas I would think would be hard to pin fairly). Overall a lovely enjoyable course to play. Very welcoming."
