“The Va-Jo-Wa Golf Course is a home-away-from-home for my family as we have a lake house nearby. Fortuitously, the only 18-hole golf course within 80 miles is across the lake. Named for founders Vaughn and Joseph Walker, this is a mom-and-pop operation in "The County" with many engaging holes, views of the lake, and some jaw-dropping views of Mt. Katahdin about 30 miles away. In these parts it's an achievement to keep the course open and the grass cut, and most of the irrigation comes from mother nature. If you enjoy bouncing your ball into a green, and shaking your head at a few rubs of the green (both towards the hole and away!), the Va-Jo-Wa is undoubtedly for you."
