Overview
A past member of Golf Digest's 100 Greatest Public list, Belgrade Lakes is a picturesque Clive Clark design in central Maine. Considered by locals to have the most scenic practice putting green in the Pine Tree State, Belgrade's clubhouse and first tee sit high above the rest of the property, offering panoramic views of the surrounding lakes and forest. The layout is intriguing with numerous elevation changes, strategic doglegs, serene ponds and omnipresent boulders that often penalize—or reward—wayward shots. The back patio of the clubhouse offers a beautiful view of the property below, including the ninth and 18th holes, which share a massive, undulating double green.

“One of the most aesthetically impressive golf courses I have come across with massive boulders framing the circling outward 9 holes. Shot options are magnified by a fantastic course layout including all varieties of par lengths, angles, bunker placements and elevation climbs and dissents. Short back-to-back par 4s at 14 "

“Belgrade Lakes is a modern public course located in Central Maine and is one of the best courses in the state. The fun begins with a phenomenal downhill opener with views of the surrounding lakes and continues throughout the hilly, well-conditioned layout. I highly recommend Belgrade Lakes to those visiting Maine it the summer."

“Outstanding course in ME mountains with great views and wonderful layout. Built in are full of large boulderers that have been pushed of to the side of fairways so make for beautiful setting. Nice variety of holes and elevation changes. 9th and 18th green is large boomerang shaped green setting below the clubhouse. Must play if looking for fun course in New England."

“Nestled in the middle of Maine is a golfer's paradise. The putting green sits on top of a hill overlooking the Belgrade Lakes area. A small unassuming clubhouse is there to welcome you upon arrival. The same person that checked me in also made my lunch and could have sold me a set of high end set of custom clubs. They do not have their own caddies, but call in to some of the top caddies in New England. The course was built around massive rock formations and kept many of the boulders that are native to the area. I could go on for days about how great Belgrade Lakes is but I wouldn't want to ruin it. It's worth the trek from wherever you are travelling from. If you love golf and are not impressed by enormous clubhouses and displays of wealth you need to visit Belgrade Lakes."
