“Excellent Donald Ross design located just Northwest of Boston. Set into the side of a large hill, the design features strong land movement and beautiful views of the Boston skyline from many holes. It is a difficult but fair test, with thick rough, many long par fours, and classic Ross greens that usually slope severely back-to-front. There are a number of standout holes, like the split fairway 13th, wild 16th with its huge drop on the approach, and a very nice set of one-shotters. There are also no holes I'd consider particularly weak. Massachusetts is an extremely strong golf state, but Winchester makes a compelling case for top 10 and sits with some other Ross gems just behind the state's Big 7."

“The conditions just keep getting better off the heels of a massive tree removal project several years ago. Firm and fast all around, tight approaches and greens that make you think about where to land it due to their speed, firmness and undulations. This is a northeast classic that you have to visit if you get the opportunity."

“Winchester C.C. is an excellent Donald Ross design, and one of the most fun golf courses to play in the state for golfers of all skill levels. Not only an engaging, challenging, and fun design, but views of the Boston skyline and the nearby Mystic Lake provide for one of the better experiences in Massachusetts golf. Get yourself here if you can!"
