“Sterling is a private club in the hinterlands about one hour from Boston. Conditions are decent and the holes are not terrible, but one wonders why this site was turned into a golf course. It's hampered on one side by marshlands that create target golf, and the course dives in and out of deep woods, creating limited recovery options and semi-blind shots. Sterling is a product of the 90s-00s golf boom where golf spread into some less-than-desirable locations, and these types of clubs tend to struggle 25 years later."
