“The defining image that I'm left with is the intense elevation change that you can see from the clubhouse out across holes 3-8. While it provides some intrigue, it also borders on "too much" especially with the houses that loom over the course. There are a number of stand out holes mixed together with some that are blah or feel like they're just after thoughts to fit into the property. I played in mid October and I think there's some room for improvement in course conditions (turf quality). Grass edges on the bunkers were particularly weak."

“Renaissance is a great golf course with some intriguing architecture that evokes thought and strategy. A number of greens (3rd, 5th, 11th) are very narrow and play at varying angles. Approaching the par 5 5th from either side of the green or the right side of the fairway is extremely difficult. So if you take on the risk of the water on the left, you are left with a much more forgiving wedge onto the green. Similarly on 11, any approach from the left side of the fairway or left bunkers leaves you with a very shallow green that requires precise distance control. An approach from the right is much more forgiving and much less visually intimidating. These holes were a great combination of strategic, thought-provoking, and challenging. It's certainly worth noting that Renaissance is quite well-conditioned. The fairways and greens are firm and smooth, which pairs quite nicely with the many short grass areas around the greens. It creates shot options from the green sites. Of note, the par 5 3rd has an really interesting bank from the right of the green. The firm turf allows you to feed the ball on from the right and get close to any right or middle pin. Brian Silva did a great job at Renaissance. There are lots of interesting and demanding golf shots, a nice variety of holes, and a well-conditioned golf course. In an area with lots of great golf courses, Renaissance can hold its own!"

“This is a nice modern course with some classical stylings, but the routing is hurt by one side being pressed against a large hill. There are a couple holes shoe-horned in here, but the rest works pretty well, even if it shades less-exciting in places."
