“Longmeadow Country Club's venerable Donald Ross layout is classic, challenging and fun. Tyler Rae has restored striking bunker shapes and widened corridors to add variety to this approachable layout."

“Longmeadow is an excellent Donald Ross design just south of Springfield, MA in the central part of the state. The course is well-routed and features a number of strong holes over a hilly terrain traversed by ravines. There are two short par threes, one short par 5, and a reachable par 4, but otherwise the course is a real bruiser with numerous, long 430+ yard par fours requiring accuracy and strength. The greens are also large and slope steadily back-to-front, making the course challenging. It's not surprising Longmeadow has hosted numerous Massachusetts Opens. I suppose, like Worcester CC, being outside the immediate Boston area keeps Longmeadow under-the-radar, but this is a wonderful layout, a great members' course, and certainly worthy of seeing if given the chance."

“Worth a visit to play a traditional Ross layout. Greens have been expanded, but they are working towards bringing them back to more traditional Ross postage stamps."

“Longmeadow flies under the radar -- perhaps intentionally, but this is a very strong Ross design with great greens."

“Excellent restored Donald Ross track - very challenging, but immensely fair. Front 9 in particular has several very solid holes. A few weak holes on back 9 (10, 13, 15) are made up for by an incredibly interesting finish (17-18). Great old school clubhouse and fantastic conditioning."

“Longmeadow just oozes "classic". It has an "old school" feel, amazing green complexes, and is a tough test of golf. The design uses and goes through some really great (natural) land formations that would probably have been bulldozed in modern times. Fast, firm and true greens, but some fairways were struggling during my 2021 visit."
