“Outstanding mountain course in eastern Kentucky. The elevation changes are dramatic and the holes are well routed. Be sure to get the course tips page from the pro shop as this is needed for club selection and shot direction. Conditioning is quite good for a state owned course."

“Hilly and hard. It has one hole that must drop 100 feet or more. Lots of wildlife, but out of the way. Art Hills design."

“This is a very interesting Arthur Hills course designed and built near Yatesville Lake in Kentucky. It is remote and about 30 minutes from the interstate, but please don't let that deter you from visiting this golf course. The course is built mainly along the ridges on the hills of eastern Kentucky. I love this site. The shots are interesting throughout the course. There are many forced carries over ravines and an amazing tee shot that goes down hundreds of feet to the fairway. I played this course as the bermuda grass is trying to come out in the fairways. This course is recognized as one of the better conditioned courses in this part of the state. The greens and fairways are usually really good. This course was built by the state government in Kentucky trying to entice golfers to travel the state and see some of the rural areas of this beautiful state. If you wanted to make an eastern Kentucky golf trip, this would be an option to play. Let me give you an itinerary that would be great to play if you wanted to stay in Ashland. Play Hidden Cove in Grayson, Eagle Ridge in Louisa, Portsmouth Elks in Portsmouth Ohio, and Eagle Trace in Morehead, Kentucky."
