Overview
The Glen Club, just north of Chicago, is a Tom Fazio design built on land that for over 70 years was a Naval Air Base. Fazio transformed the once flat land into a rolling layout with undulating greens and an abundance of natural vegetation. The scenic course features vistas of the Chicago skyline in the distance.

“Well-conditioned semi-private course easily accessible from Chicago. Fun layout and wide variety of shots required throughout the round. Several-risk reward holes create scoring opportunities if successful in avoiding hazards."

“One of the better public courses in the Chicago area, and one of the few Fazio designs in Illinois. Conditioning of the course is usually excellent and The Glen has one of the better practice facilities available to the public player. The course is built on the old Glenview Naval Air Station and Fazio used the concrete runway remains to build much of the mounding that dominates the course, creating elevations that are unusual for an Illinois course. Routing creates a nice variety of holes although with the exception of the 10th, there isn't much in the way of short par 4s. The Club is home to the Illinois Golf Hall of Fame which adds to the ambience of the clubhouse. The finishing holes are a great test and the water hazards Fazio put in play on the 17th and 18th make for a great closing challenge."

“A fun course that would not be much a challenge for the good golfer but lots of fun for the average player. Conditioning is good, especially the greens."

“it was good to return to the Glen Club as it has been a long time since I last played it. It is a solid Fazio course and it’s pretty amazing what he did. A former flat Air Force base, Fazio designed a course that had rolling topography and plenty of movement. The front side is probably a few strokes harder than the back. The fairways are enormously wide, but definitely one side of the fairway was better than the other to have an easier approach into the green. The difficulty is length on a few par 4 holes that had elevated greens and the surrounds of the greens provided the difficulty."

“This is a great public golf course. Not often can you play a Fazio design in a public setting. This design is fascinating. Greens are really good. Conditions are great. There are times on this course with the vegetation that I thought of the gorse and the holes in Scotland. If you visit here on a cold, windy day, you may feel like you are playing in Scotland, at least on a couple of par 3s. Love it and it is a must play public course in Chicago."

“A tough course shaped out of former, featureless airstrip. More difficulty than fun here. You'll want to play it once, maybe twice. Many people will feel it's an expensive place to play, with slightly inadequate value."
