“A great course open to the public for a few tee times in the afternoons. The scenery doesn't get any better than what you'll see at the Idaho Club. It's wilderness golf at it's finest. Conditions are also exceptional. Holes 5-11 will test the game of even the best players. Several long forced carries over marshes to what appears from the tee to be tiny patches of fairway surrounded by traps. Not many flat/straight putts on these greens. It's a challenging course. There's water on 16 of 18 holes and it's in play on most of them. So bring plenty of ammo. Don't worry about your round, just enjoy the amazing setting and scenery and you'll have a great day at The Idaho Club. This is Jack Nicklaus at his toughest!"

“A Jack Nicklaus Signature Course opened for play in 2008, and is located less than 20 min. from Sandpoint, Idaho near Lake Pend Oreille and the waters of Pack River comes into play on 16 of the holes. The elevation is just over 2000 ft. and has bent grass greens and fairways. It’s a difficult public course that has several forced carries, undulating greens, and tricky green complexes. There are beautiful views throughout the course with some good elevation changes."

“Beautiful location and venue. The greens have unusual contouring, with many table sized humps, leaving few playable pin locations. Difficult course with few options for high handicappers. Tough test of golf."

“Not one of Nicklaus best designs. There is water on 15 holes and most also have trees closely lining the fairways. The course is very penal from the first swing to the last. There are a number of long forced carrys over marshes and water that can't be avoided. The location is very scenic but the course is so tight and penal that playing it is no fun."

“Private course that was built and Nicklaus remodeled. Front 9 is mostly old layout, flat along river with water and trees. Back 9 is new and carved through the rocks with many spectacular holes. Went through bankruptcy but new owners are working hard to upgrade. Fun to play if you can get on."
