“Miami Lakes Golf Club offers a distinctly different atmosphere from many municipal courses, with a lively clubhouse environment and a strong social energy throughout the property. The course conditions are notable, with well-maintained turf and presentation that exceeds what many golfers would expect from a local public facility. From a playing standpoint, the front nine features generous landing areas and relatively straightforward tee shots. The back nine presents a different challenge, with several holes routing closer to the lakes and requiring greater precision off the tee. The contrast between the two sides creates a varied test while remaining accessible to a wide range of players."

“Miami Lakes-played 5-20-26 Best Transformation - new course opened November 2025 Designed by Bruce Hepner. The course was previously called Don Shula’s Golf Club name after the Miami Dolphins head coach 1970-1995. The course was meticulously redone. Hundreds for trees were removed, especially Australian Pines and Ficus trees. Irrigation was redone and fairways were raised to avoid being affected by ground water levels. Bimini Bermuda on fairways and TifEagle on the greens. The entire course was re-grassed. Greens were re-contoured with significant undulations. Miami Lakes is a public golf course located in Miami Lakes, Florida 10 miles north of Miami International Airport. Fairways are extremely generous and the course play as long as 7129 yards. “The redesigned layout, which included a monumental rise in the overall elevation of the course has changed what previously was a very soft terrain into a course that is both firm and fast. The overwhelming majority of trees were removed, making the layout very open, combined with the new greens that are quite large and contoured, which all should increase the fun for the average golfer."
