Overview
Situated on the Choctawhatchee Bay in Destin, Kelly Plantation is built on the site of a former turpentine plantation. Designers Fred Couples and Gene Bates delivered on their goal to make it a playable course for higher handicaps, as there are hardly any forced carries from the forward tees. It’s a stout challenge from the tips, though, which play 7,100 yards and to a rating of just under 75. The waterfront holes offer some tremendous views of the bay.

“Course was in great shape, challenging and had a good variety of holes. Fairways were ample to hit driver and make the golf course very playable from the tee. Greens were large and undulating and in excellent shape and speedy. Par threes were demanding and the toughest part of the golf course. I know this has nothing to do with course architecture, but as a side note the staff was outstanding including everyone from the golf shop to the grill, bag attendants and cart girl - staff went far and beyond just doing their job. Extremely enjoyable experience - highly recommend."
