“Sabal is one of the two BB east courses. It reopened 2 years ago after some course, grounds & clubhouse work. The majority of the course work was enlarging the greens & adding more runoff areas in these areas. The course is your typical SW Florida layout, flat land with manmade slopes from the ponds & bunkers dug. It is unique in the fact there aren’t any homes around the course & plenty of wildlife. Large greens with plenty of pin locations can provide a different look everyday. A fun course to play!"

“1998 orignal design by Tom Fazio, reno 2023/2024 by Fazio design as part of Bonita Bay Club's renovation of several courses. Reno speicifally improved drainage and infrascturure, redo of most greenside B's and green surfaces. Feels like a higher-end country club designed to be playable by older demographic in Naples, FL. Green complexes are more interesting than prior to reno and can be difficult depending on green speed and pin location. Relatively easy to get off the tee - the challenge comes with the approach shot and greenside shots. No houses on Sabal - the player feels like he/she is out in the wild. Both Cypress and Sabal courses are certified as Audubon Signature Sanctuary courses; which means preserved landscape includeing pines, oaks, and cypress trees. As with many Florida courese, Sabal routes through many lakes. Not surprisingly, the Sabal Course has hundreds of native sabal palms. The back 9 has 3 par 5's and 3 par 3's for a par 36, allowing for a fun change from the usual 2 and 2."

“The Sabal course is relatively flat but intersting nonetheless due to the water hazards shape and placement as water comes into play on most every hole. The course is not adjacent to any houses as you play out through a nature preserve. The lack of houses and the wildlife present on the course add to the uniqueness of this type of course in the Naples area. The undulations on the fairways often obscure the view down to the water hazard level which makes commiting to a line difficult on drives or approaches on par 5s. The placements of bunkers, hazards and hills dictate the best approach angles to greens. Many greens are large and offer multiple hole locations that can change the strategy of the hole. Most holes require driver off the tee, but several holes bring the question into play, especially with the wind as a factor."

“Very generous fairways and greens. You can hit the green but still find yourself in 3 putt distance. The course is in a great location that is just golf. I liked the placement of the bunker on many of the holes because you had to work around them. Very good course."
