“Quinnatisset CC is a tale of two 9s. The front nine redesigned by Rulewich & Fluery has a more traditional parkland feel while the back, A Cornish & Mungeum redesign from decades ago is a quirky and oftentimes unfair challenge. 'Quinny' is known for its incredibly quick greens which traditionally are the 12-12.5' range and have been prepared for tournaments to approach 15'. There are 4 complexes on the back 9 which the green complexes are very severe for regular green speeds let alone tournament conditions. Super Jeff Tibbetts has expanded many of the green complex peripheries aiding in playability while also increasing fringe space and chipping areas to increase shot options."

“"Quinny" is a sleeper. Way off in a forgotten corner on NE Connecticut and even hidden in a forest with no extraneous noise sources around, this Roger Rulewich 1990's redo to this 100-year-old course makes the course well worth playing. The 1st hole is an uphill, dogleg left, driver mid-iron; then on #2, a strong-par 4 to a well-protected green. The 3rd is a strong 3 over a water hazard - the more the hole location is pushed left, the tougher the hole. The par 5 4th seems almost a breather except that it, too, requires a precise third shot to an elevated green. The nine continues with good holes, long and short, and finishes with a strong 9th, a long, dogleg right par 4. The 10th through 14th head uphill and then back downhill and are treelined. Both the 11th and 15th are good 3's. While the 16th is a bit quirky, the 17th is a good 4 with water trouble nearby. The 18th takes the player up to the top of a hill and then downhill towards the green. All in all, this is a very enjoyable and challenging "walk in the park.""
