“Located on the Connecticut shoreline halfway between New Haven and Rhode Island, Madison CC is an understated club built by Willie Park Jr. a century ago. The course occupies a very small piece of property and is a lovely walk. Despite its short length, an ever-present wind and well-placed hazards provide some challenge. The front nine is tight and quirky while the back plays much longer with more elevation changes. The course is overall quite pretty with views of the Long Island Sound from many holes. There are numerous holes here that make the golfer think, and angles matter into these greens, especially into a hole like 6, a double dogleg par 5 with a very shallow diagonal green and diabolical tight valleys surrounding it. Another fascinating stretch of holes is 7 and 8, back-to-back short par fours with risk-reward features and plenty of danger for first time players who needlessly rip driver. This is not one of Connecticut's elite courses, but is a very enjoyable play and would be a great place to be a member."

“Fun test, near the water, with the winds you'd expect. Back nine very strong!"

“Beautiful place, the way it sits in the middle of town. Its a very unique golf course. It has the looks of a links course but half the holes are not links. Very scenic. Interesting mix of par 3-4 and 5 pars. A lot of fun to play slightly punishing if not playing great. Some of the collection areas meld together into other holes and greens connect to tees. Very Unique and simple design. The double green is very effective. Also: You can play combo tees, for example, green and white and they give you the yardages. People are great and they like to walk. Great course for women."

“A delightful course to play. There seems to only have food service on special occasions. Enough restaurant choices in the area, as well as the Madison hotel nearby"
