“Without question, an undiscovered gem in California. Fantastic setting, starting in meadow, moving into trees, back in meadow/marshes, then through forest and finishing along creeks, ponds, and rivers. Wonderful views throughout. Far harder than rating and slope would indicate -- which are certainly due to generous tee sets. Tournament scores from back tees would be surprisingly high with course setup to fairly defend. Must work ball left/right and low/high. Hit all clubs in bag. Course conditions are a model for mountain courses with some of best poa greens anywhere. Terrific par 3 and par 4 holes with enough pin locations to keep you coming back. Only three par 5s and first two are eerily similar, but 18 is a great par 5 finishing hole (through trees, along a river, then over a creek) which should make for exciting finishes. This course deserves more respect as it is better than many highly-rated courses."

Lengthened one or two holes and was told they rerouted course for current 16, 17, 18 finish -- which is terrific (though westernly routing). 18 is a great finishing hole from back tees (through trees, along river, over creek) which should make for exciting finishes."
