“Rolling hills and awkward lies! Greens roll extremely well. Fantastic place to play golf in SF. Members were very welcoming and happy to share."

“A small hilly piece of land that Mackenzie got 18 holes on it. Very repetitious up and down, relatively straight holes."

“Dramatic property west of SFO, this MacKenzie design has a great opening hole and is one of the steepest Golden Age designs that I have seen. Makes good use of a small property."

“Architect- Alister MacKenzie, par 71, 1930 Located in South San Francisco with views of the San Francisco Bay. Very hilly course, yet still quite walkable. Short course with tricky fast undulated greens. Lots of fun to play."

“Dr. Alister MacKenzie designed many legendary golf courses. He also designed Green Hills, which the members will remind you when your third putt rolls off the green into a deep bunker. Short but tricky layout packed into a tight, hilly property that will test your shotmaking and short game."

“The first hole lures you in with its beautiful bunkering. And then you get hit over the head (sometimes literally by a golf ball) by the narrowness of this course. Imagine the narrowest course you can think of and then cut the width in half and you have Green Hills."

“On one hole, I had a 25-footer downhill and downwind; my first putt rolled off the green. I tried it again by turning around and putting it in the opposite direction of my line; I hit it like a six-footer, and the ball ended up within a foot of the hole. Not sure how to score that, but not positive."
