“an absolute blast of elevation changes and severe greens, Balboa has booking preference for city residents and they snap up all available tee times, but if it might rain tomorrow everyone in San Diego cancels and stays home. SD has some of the best public golf value I've ever experienced at places like Balboa, Coronado and even Torrey (North for value) but it pales in comparison to paltry fees that the city residents get charged. Balboa boasts very good turf on the fairways and greens and an endless array of twists, turns and elevation changes. It's jam packed all day every day so don't expect a 4 hour round of golf, but do expect a charming, challenging and thoroughly rewarding experience."
