Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail At Silver Lakes: Short Course

This northeast Alabama stop on the RTJ Golf Trail is surrounded by rolling hills and offers three nine-hole layouts (and one par-3 course). The Heartbreaker opens with a handful of tree-lined holes with gentle elevation changes and generous landing areas. The finishing three-hole stretch is memorable starting with the par-5 seventh, which offers a beautiful vista from the tee before descending down to two narrow strips of fairway separated by an imposing pond. The medium-length par-3 eighth is all carry over water to a green with three distinct sections. The Heartbreaker concludes with a demanding par 4 with water running down the entire left side and an undulating green. The Backbreaker plays along the hilly landscape and offers wide, forgiving fairways with contouring filtering balls toward the center. There are very few bunkers on this links-style nine—you'll find plenty of thick native grass and intriguing elevation changes.
