'Is this the best golf swing you've ever seen?': Nick Faldo pays huge compliment to rising star

Say what you want about Nick Faldo's television career, but one thing you cannot dispute is this: the man knows ball. That fact often got lost during the moments he was wearing glasses upside down or quoting Imagine Dragons songs on the 72nd hole of the Masters.

Unfortunately, we don't get too hear from Faldo as often anymore, though he does still manage to get himself in the headlines on occasion. Last week it was something he said on a podcast interview, while this week, it was something he tweeted. Sir Nick is actually quite active on the ol' bird app, now known as the X app.

On Thursday at the RBC Heritage, rising star Ludvig Aberg hit a preposterous 2-iron from 272 yards out that quickly began making the social media rounds once the PGA Tour posted the video. As Paul Azinger used to say, the ball flight was straighter than train smoke. The type of shot you could watch on repeat for hours. The sound, the strike, the result. A thing of beauty.

"Is this the best golf swing you've ever seen or what??" Faldo wrote. "Plane perfection."

Wow, that is ... unbelievably high praise. Hard to disagree, too. This is the reason so many are so high on Aberg. The reason he was near the top of the odds board before his first-ever Masters, which he wound up finishing solo second in. This golf swing is art.

Even still, coming from a man who swings like this, that is an ENORMOUS compliment:
