It took a K-9 team, two drone units and a golf cart bridge collision, but a 35-year-old Wisconsinite is now in custody following a chaotic Fond du Lac police chase.

Police initially arrived on the scene at East Merrill Avenue after they received reports that a local was “destroying property and possibly assaulted someone inside the home.” The man was being driven to the hospital by his girlfriend but started acting oddly. Soon after, he shoved his girlfriend into the side of the car, got behind the wheel and drove away.

Not long after, the same man bolted into a nearby Dairy Queen, looking to hide in a storage area. However, he was thwarted by a couple of employees who eventually forced him out of the restaurant, only suffering a few slight injuries. The man then evaded the cops as he scrambled out of the DQ, found his way back to his car and sped away once more.

His car was later found smashed into a golf cart bridge at the nearby South Hills Golf & Country Club as a K-9 team and two drone units attempted to pinpoint the man on foot. And yet, it wasn’t until a homeowner alerted the police to the suspect running through his backyard that law enforcement finally got a hold of this wily individual.

He was taken in at that point without incident and transported by Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue to SSM Health and eventually to Fond du Lac County Jail after being medically cleared. He now faces multiple charges. His name has not yet been released.
