Charles Schwab Challenge 2020 odds: How oddsmakers assess this historically strong field in golf's return

There will be some question marks as the PGA Tour returns this week at the Charles Schwab Challenge. Which players will be rusty? And whose in the best form post-quarantine will be nearly impossible to answer until action starts Thursday at Colonial Country Club. And any uncertainties are likely to take a back seat to the overarching excitement about golf’s return.

We can rely on course form to handicap the Charles Schwab, as Colonial Country Club has held a PGA Tour event since 1946, only missing a few years in between. There are various metrics—like strokes-gained/ball-striking at Ben Hogan’s old jaunt—which are variables we can lean into more than other weeks given the level of unknowns.
