Zurich Classic: A Louisiana swamp

AVONDALE, La. -- It wasn't much water relative to what New Orleans took on in Hurricane Katrina in 2005, but relative to what a golf tournament can withstand, well, anyone for a Monday finish?

Play was suspended at 12:57 on Friday, with only 47 players having completed second-round play. The ensuing downpour (and downpour doesn't really do it justice) dumped 2 1/2 inches of water on the TPC New Orleans course in three hours times.

The forecast for Saturday calls for more of the same. Even before the rain began Friday, the third round on Saturday was scheduled to begin at 7 a.m., with threesomes going off the first and 10th tees in an effort to finish as much of the round as possible in the event rain halted play.
