Fresh off his U.S. Open triumph at Oakmont, Johnson tamed a stubborn South Course at Firestone C.C. ranking second in driving distance at an obscene average of 341.3 yards while still finding plenty of fairways (57.1 percent compared to the field average of 44.3 percent to rank T-4) using the same 10.5-degree TaylorMade M1 460 driver that was the difference-maker during his win at the U.S. Open.
Johnson’s driver has a Fujikura Speeder Evolution X shaft, is 45.75 inches long and has a swingweight of D-4. The weight tracks have the weight in the neutral directional position and all the way in the rear in the trajectory position to assist launch.
