Winner's Bag: Dustin Johnson, U.S. Open

Oakmont Country Club is a big golf course and it stood to reason one of the game’s best drivers would come out on top. And despite some clutch putts with his Scotty Cameron by Titleist prototype putter and that 6-iron at the last that erased any doubt, it was Dustin Johnson’s 10.5-degree TaylorMade M1 460 driver that was the difference-maker during his win at the U.S. Open.

Johnson, who came into the Open ranked third in strokes gained/off-the-tee this season, led the field in driving distance at 316.75 yards and was tied for 18th in accuracy, hitting 64.3 percent of his fairways. The driver has a Fujikura Speeder Evolution X shaft, is 45.75 inches long and has a swingweight of D-4, down from the D-7 he had when using the company’s AeroBurner model. The weight tracks have the weight in the neutral directional position and all the way in the rear in the trajectory position to assist launch.
