The problem with public service announcements is the messages of the campaigns are often dwarfed by horrific acting.
Case in point: This spectacular PSA on Minnesota golf vanity plates, featuring PGA Tour player Tim Herron:
Herron is a lot of things. A Walker Cup winner. Four-time victor on the PGA Tour. One of golf's fan favorites. "Charismatic ball of fire" is not one of them. We expected the video clip to end with, "And I want to let my family and friends know my captors are treating me well."
Of course, we don't want to be too hard on Herron. He is advocating for a cause: Proceeds from the vanity plates will fund junior golf programs in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
Just grab a cup of coffee before filming another spot, Lumpy.
