Watch Justin Thomas' creative strategy for getting out of Royal Troon's bunkers

Justin Thomas has followed up his impressive rookie season in 2015 with a dynamite sophomore campaign. He won his first PGA Tour event in November, he ranks seventh on the money list and ninth in the FedEx Cup, he smacked a 414-yard bomb at Firestone and he's making a late run at an American Ryder Cup spot. The only area Thomas seems to be struggling in is the sand game, ranking 75th in save percentage from the beach. Which could be a problem this week at the 2016 Open Championship, given that Royal Troon's bunkers can do a number on the field.

However, judging by the video below, it appears the 23-year-old Thomas has a creative strategy for getting out of Royal Troon's bunkers:

True, Thomas' game plan might not be "legal." (Then again, what is, nowadays.) But it's so crazy it might just work.
