The clubs Pernilla Lindberg used to win the ANA Inspiration

Jeff Gross

Pernilla Lindberg started off hot at the ANA Inspiration with rounds of 65-67, but she needed extra holes—and an extra day—to capture her first major championship, winning in a playoff over Jennifer Song and Inbee Park, the latter taking her eight extra holes before succumbing to a 30-foot birdie bomb that she couldn’t match from 15 feet.

Lindberg’s putter is Ping’s Cadence TR Rustler, a mallet with a fair amount of weight removed from the head that allows for a low and back center of gravity and high moment of inertia to assist on off-center strikes.

Also intriguing is Lindberg’s driver, Ping’s GLe. Almost all LPGA players use drivers designed for men, but the GLe is Ping’s women’s model with a headweight that is 13 grams lighter than the company’s G400 driver (193 grams as opposed to 206 grams).

What Pernilla Lindberg had in the bag at the ANA Inspiration.

Driver: Ping GLe, 11.5 degrees

3-wood: Ping G400, 15 degrees

Hybrid: Ping G, 19 degrees

Irons (4-PW): Ping i200

Wedges: Ping Glide 2.0 wedges (50, 54, 58 degrees)

Putter: Ping Cadence TR Rustler
