The clubs Ariya Jutanugarn used to win the Ladies Scottish Open

Mark Runnacles

Ariya Jutanugarn once again went without a driver at the Ladies Scottish Open at Gullane Golf Club—like she did en route to her victory at the U.S. Women's Open earlier this season and other wins over the past year—but it was her nifty work with her wedges that led to his victory on the Scottish links.

Of the 12 iron clubs in her bag, Jutanugarn has a trio of Titleist Vokey SM7 wedges and she used those adeptly during a final-round 66 that gave her a one-shot win over Minjee Lee. Jutanugarn, the No. 1-ranked female player in the world, hit a solid chip shot that led to par on the second hole. Then after a birdie-birdie-birdie stretch on Nos. 7-9, she hit another pure chip that set up a birdie at the par-5 11th. Overall, Jutanugarn missed 29 greens for the week, but only made six bogeys, which speaks to her resilient short game, none of those up-and-downs being more important than the 72nd hole, where she clipped her 56-degree wedge and watched as it rolled to within tap-in distance, which proved to be the winning blow.

What Ariya Jutanugarn had in the bag at the Ladies Scottish Open:

Ball: Titleist Pro V1x

3-wood: TaylorMade AeroBurner, 15 degrees

Irons (2-3): TaylorMade Tour Preferred UDI; (4): TaylorMade RSi TP UDI; (5-PW): Titleist 716 AP2

Wedges: Titleist Vokey SM7 (50, 56, 60 degrees)

Putter: Odyssey Works Cruiser V-Line
