As we saw last year with Emiliano Grillo's win in Napa, the opening event of the PGA Tour season can be a great opportunity for rookies to jumpstart their careers. But it's also the perfect chance to pull pranks on these green tour pros. Enter Skratch TV.
The tour's internet video network seized the chance to trick some of the newbies at this week's Safeway Open like Bryson DeChambeau and Wesley Bryan by having someone dress up as a security guard and pretend players needed to pay for and pass tests in order to obtain practice range permits. And the results were pretty funny. Check it out:
Our two favorite lines? "That's a credential, son, that's not a permit," and, "If you want me out of your hair, I need 20 dollars. . . or. . . six."
Great stuff, but a heads up to the other rookies who avoided these shenanigans: You don't have to pay for range balls. It's one of the perks of being on the PGA Tour.
