Ryder Cup 2021: Saturday afternoon four-ball pairings for U.S. and Europe

HAVEN, Wis.—With the U.S. leading by a huge margink 9-3, after three sessions in the Ryder Cup, American captain Steve Stricker predictably stuck with what’s worked with his lineup heading into Saturday afternoon’s four-ball.

Three pairings that have already put points on the board together at Whistling Straits—Dustin Johnson-Collin Morikawa, Tony Finau-Harrison English, and Bryson DeChambeau-Scottie Scheffler—were set to play.

On the European side, only two previous pairs will go out—Europe’s only stalwarts this week, Sergio Garcia and Jon Rahm (3-0 together), and Rory McIlroy and Ian Poulter, who were routed on Friday morning in alternate shot. Neither played on Saturday morning.

Finau-English vs. Shane Lowry-Tyrrell Hatton

Brooks Koepka-Jordan Spieth vs. Jon Rahm-Sergio Garcia

Scheffler-DeChambeau vs. Tommy Fleetwood-Viktor Hovland

Johnson-Morikawa vs. McIlroy-Poulter

Sitting for the first time for the U.S. is Xander Schauffle, who joins Johnson as the top-scoring Americans at 3-0. Johnson has gone 2-0 wiht Morikawa, including a four-ball win over Paul Casey and Bernd Wiesberger.

Beyond Garcia and Rahm, Europe’s only other points have been Tommy Fleetwood and Viktor Hovland earning a halve in Friday four-ball and Hatton teaming with Rahm for a halve in the same session.
