PGA Tour: Day shares lead after second round

Jason Day shot a two-under 69 to move into a tie for the lead at RBC Heritage with Kevin Chappell and Charley Hoffman

Jason Day continued his hot play at the RBC Heritage, shooting a two-under par 69 in the second round at Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, S.C.

Day, seeking his third victory in his last four starts, is at six-under 136, joining Kevin Chappell and Charley Hoffman atop the leaderboard.

"Everyone was expecting a bit of tough conditions, rain and wind, but for the most part, the hardest part was trying to hit the right gusts," said Day. "It was a tough day out there, but I'm glad I got in at two-under."

Luke Donald, tied for the lead after the first round on Thursday, shot an even-par 71 to drop down to a tie for fourth with Patton Kizzire and Russell Knox. They are one shot off the lead at four-under. Knox shot the best score of the round, a six-under 65.

Matt Kuchar, winner of the 2014 RBC Heritage, shot an even-par 71, sitting at four-under and tied with David Lingmerth, Chris Kirk and George McNeill.

Bryson DeChambeau shot a two-under 69 in his second round since turning professional earlier in the week. At three-under, he is tied for 11th and three shots back.

The cut line was set at two-over par, eliminating Englishmen Paul Casey and Matthew Fitzpatrick who both finished in the top 10 at the Masters.
