But there aren't as many suckers out there as you might think.
According to Jeff Sherman, the assistant manager at Westgate Las Vegas Super Book and its golf oddsmaker, Woods went off at 60-to-1 odds at the PGA Championship -- the highest odds of his career. And yet, people weren't biting as much on Woods, who has always been a perennial favorite among books and bettors, as we're used to seeing.
Other than Woods not making either list, there were no real surprises with Jason Day leading the way in terms of bets made and more money being bet on Jordan Spieth than anyone else. And we can assume Rory McIlroy only being fifth on that list is due to his late decision to play in the event.
For the record, Sherman said Woods was still No. 10 in ticket count and No. 8 in money wagered. In other words, thanks to those long odds, he's still not one of the players Vegas would particularly like to see hoist the Wanamaker Trophy on Sunday.
