South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen is a hero on the home front in the wake of his victory in the British Open on Sunday. Even South African president Jacob Zuma weighed in.
"It is among the greatest Madiba gifts that anybody has given our country," Zuma said in a statement. "For a 27-year-old, this is no small feat. A master stroke was winning it on the now international Nelson Mandela Day."
Mandela, who celebrated his 92nd birthday on Sunday, is known as Madiba, a term of endearment there.
