One more reason Augusta is Augusta

A practice area is just a practice area, it doesn't matter what the address. The one notable exception might be when the address is Washington Road in Augusta, Georgia.

That much is already apparent thanks to a report from Geoff Ogilvy, who scoped out the new practice facility at Augusta National (built, incidentally, on where us media hacks used to park during the tournament) on a practice round at the club today and came back with rave reviews.

"New practice area is where the parking lots were. Undulating, real looking greens and fully mature trees. Looks like its been there forever," Ogilvy wrote on Twitter. "I have to say the new range and practice area is one of the coolest things I have seen."

Somehow we get the feeling there's not a plastic mat or a token machine in sight.
