Mi Hyang Lee had the best St. Patrick's Day of any golfer

This week marks the 15th anniversary of Annika Sorenstam shooting 59 at the 2001 Safeway International. It's the only time anyone has shot golf's magic number on the LPGA Tour. However, that almost changed on Thursday.

In the first round of the JTBC Founders Cup, Mi Hyang Lee shot a nine-under-par 27 on her opening nine. Yes, that's nine under for nine holes. Not bad.

Playing the back nine first at Wildfire Golf Club, Lee made seven birdies, an eagle, and one par (What happened on No. 12, Mi Hyang?!). But needing only a 32 on the back nine (shooting 59 is tough, huh?), Lee slacked off with just one birdie and finished with a 62 to take the Day 1 lead. Here are highlights of her incredible round:

The 27 and the nine under in relation to par tie the LPGA Tour record set by Amy Yang at last year's LPGA KEB HanaBank Championship. Annika's record may be safe for now, but we're pretty sure Lee just shot the best nine-hole score ever by someone using an orange ball.
