TURNBERRY, Scotland -- Not to get all technical, but when a guy holds a press conference to apologize for smearing his countryman, wouldn't he want to avoid smearing him again just 48 hours later?
But that is indeed the latest twist in the Colin Montgomerie-Sandy Lyle saga, in which Lyle came back today to call Monty "a drama queen" on the BBC.
"Colin is Colin. We do sometimes call him a bit of a drama queen. You have got to get around to it and stop hiding behind your manager and come out and have a talk," Lyle said.
No word yet on when the next Lyle apology press conference is scheduled.
